AMY MONAGHAN
Author, Screenwriter, Collector of Pinecones
Pleased to meet ya.
I'm a queer Los Angeles-based writer with a background in visual storytelling and a passion for prose. I grew up on the sandy, scenic wasteland of Long Island, New York, and much of my childhood was shaped by visits to middle-of-nowhere Pennsylvania, as well as my grandma's home in the far reaches of Kansas. The bleak and beautiful landscape of rural America tends to sneak its way into my writing as a result. I'm a graduate of the MFA Screenwriting program at UCLA, where I was a 2019 winner of the annual Screenwriter's Showcase. My feature film and TV pilot scripts have won and placed in competitions such as BlueCat, ScreenCraft, and Austin Film Festival, and my short stories have been published in literary magazines both online and in print.
